In the same letter the studio confirmed the DLC is already in progress

In the letter on plans from June through September, Pearl Abyss separately confirmed that a Crimson Desert DLC is in development. Updates to Pywel, the authors say, will not stop at that list. It is early to name the expansion’s details. The work is “well underway.”

Whether the DLC will be a separate campaign, a region or a continuation of Kliff’s story is not said in the text. The early announcement is read as a sign the project is not being wound down after the launch criticism.

This confirms that development is happening, not what the expansion contains. The story edits and cross-save from the same letter remain a separate patch plan.
