In six years Cyberpunk outsold The Witcher 3 by 10 million copies
CD Projekt Red confirmed that in six years Cyberpunk 2077 sold 40 million copies. By November of last year the total was 35 million, and the last two years added more than 15. Another 5 million in a few months without a major update is, for the studio, a strong result. The game remains the company's main source of income.
The Witcher 3 sold 30 million in its first six years. Night City beats that window by at least 10 million. In recent years, by the feel of the report, Cyberpunk has become the more visible of the two in the current conversation.
The Witcher game's full total is still ahead: The Witcher 3 has already reached 60 million copies over a longer life.
The comparison is fair only across a six-year window. On the absolute shelf, Geralt is still higher.
