Kit Connor bulked up for a warrior and cut it after the shoot

In a conversation for Interview Magazine, Kit Connor confirmed that playing a warrior in A24's Elden Ring film took hard physical preparation. He spoke with an old friend, Tom Rhys Harries, who is preparing to debut in Clayface.

Connor plays a powerful warrior and added a great deal of muscle to match the source. Right after filming he had to lose it quickly. He put it simply: he became really huge for Elden Ring, then needed to return to a more usual build, and he likes not looking the same in every film.

At the same time Connor has been cast as Cyclops in the Marvel films. Shooting on the X-Men reboot starts next year. That film's premiere is set for 5 May 2028. In this same interview the Elden Ring release is given as 8 March 2028, two months before the May date.

Harries himself spent a long time in this soulslike to take the strain off before an important audition. Connor said his friend's opinion would matter specifically because Harries knows the game. Clayface opens on 23 October 2026: a dark, R-rated horror about a disfigured actor who tries to restore his face and becomes a monster.
