894 days have passed since the remake's iOS port with no new RE4 edition
By 2 June 2026, Resident Evil 4 — counting the original and the full remake — had more than twenty editions, starting on GameCube in 2005. No new port or special version had been announced. A ResetEra thread was what flagged the pause.
The gap between fourth-game releases had never been longer than three years. The previous record stall was 994 days, from 30 August 2016 to 21 May 2019. Counting from the remake's iOS port, early June had already reached 894 days.
If nothing new arrived before the end of summer 2026, the series would have set its own record for silence. At the start of June, Capcom had shown nothing further for the fourth game: no new remake edition and no further port. The re-release pipeline everyone was used to looked stopped for the first time.
