Leon took first among heroes in Capcom's anniversary poll

For the series' 30th anniversary Capcom ran the Resident Evil 30th Anniversary Poll on the Resident Evil Portal. Only Resident Evil Ambassadors could vote, from 15 to 29 July 2026. The results appeared in September in Nikkei Entertainment!'s BIOHAZARD 30th Special.

Leon S. Kennedy is first among the heroes. Jill Valentine was named the most popular woman in the series. Ada Wong placed ahead of Claire Redfield and Ethan Winters. The remakes, including the fourth game and Separate Ways, are a large part of why she sits that high.

Albert Wesker is first among the villains. The relatively new Zeno also made the top ten, placed near Wesker because of a similar presence. The poll covers the series from the 1990s games through Resident Evil 7, Village, and Resident Evil 4 Remake, so Leon's win is not only nostalgia for 2005.

The magazine's short summary did not print every category, from creatures to weapons, as a full numbered list. The results were noted on X.
