A fan built a Pokémon fight on Expedition 33’s parries

On 31 August 2026 a video by BelmontesArt showed what a Pokémon battle could look like with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s mechanics. The frame has Decidueye, Charizard and Greninja against Ultra Necrozma.

On top of the turn order the author hung timed parries and blocks, a Sandfall-style camera and pieces of that RPG’s interface. Super-effective hits stay. Mega Charizard X and Y sit on their own buttons.

The clip was built in Blender with modified models and sounds from both games. BelmontesArt says the aim was to try Expedition 33’s cinematic feel on Pokémon. In under a week it passed 400,000 views on YouTube. There is no official project with that combat system.
