Sandfall’s Montpellier manor matches the game by accident
On 2 August 2026 Broche told Automaton where Sandfall Interactive’s house, so like the manor in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, came from. The match happened on its own.
The team used to sit in a cramped room. After the deal with Kepler Interactive there were more people, and the city of Montpellier offered an old mansion. On the first visit, opening the door, the staff recognized a location from their own game, and that is why they took it.
What they were looking for was the character of the place, not a set. The studio wanted a house where friends make a game, rather than a corridor office. In the garden they play pétanque and table tennis. After the success they are not planning a move to a corporate campus: the tight circle matters more to them than growth at any price.
