Harvest Festival, Foundation's first major add-on, adds livestock, orchards and a fair
Polymorph Games has outlined Harvest Festival, the first large expansion for its medieval city builder Foundation. The full game was already on Steam, and the studio had mostly been fixing bugs. The paid add-on was planned for summer 2026.
The team says a medieval village lived off the land, so the expansion is about giving players more ways for a settlement to feed itself. Yards will hold chickens, pigs and geese, supplying workshops and the market. Orchards yield apples, plums and hazelnuts, and vegetable plots grow a wider mix of crops. New workplaces include a cider house and a drying oven. Workshop recipes can be switched: a slaughterhouse, for example, can turn a pig into both meat and lard.
A story event, the harvest festival, gives villagers a break from work. The tavern gains a fairground where food and drink are laid out and performers are hired. Polymorph calls the system underneath a real step forward: the game can drop spontaneous events that change the usual pace of the village, and this fair is only the first. The square beside the tavern becomes a place the whole district can gather.
The paid DLC does not arrive alone. A free update for every Foundation owner restores a building kit players already liked. The studio has not named the kit, only that the new pieces should lend a favorite monument more prestige and finer architecture. Visual effects in the base game are being refreshed at the same time. The announcement is in this Steam news post.
