E-Day received a large patch hours before the full launch

On 6 October 2026, a few hours before the full release of Gears of War: E-Day, The Coalition shipped a large update based on early access. The focus is stability, hardware compatibility, online diagnostics, and Xbox sign-in. That includes a failure that appeared when the device clock disagreed with the server.

Versus matches should no longer stick on the Waiting for players screen. In Sabotage, the bomb no longer stays in a defuse state if the player dies. The Bilefrog-Kalona bug, which dropped the second split-screen player after a pause, is closed as well.

In the campaign, turrets were adjusted and failures in acts two and four were fixed, including the power-station defense. War Journal achievements and Crucible bonuses are no longer granted retroactively to someone who joins another player’s session late.

In Horde Siege, Siege Blitz Secure objectives now close properly, and the evacuation helicopter in the Downtown West Blitz mission was fixed: in some cases it never arrived. The patch is already available on every platform.
