Saber says the Switch 2 version of Hellraiser: Revival will not be cut

By late September, Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival was still aimed at an 8 October release. Saber described it as an unsoftened return to Clive Barker's themes: adult material, graphic violence and sexual subtext in the vein of the films. The studio said rating boards had passed the game without forcing cuts. Creative director Tim Willits had already said the ESRB rating was in, and that nothing had been removed to get it.

The open question was Nintendo Switch 2. Players had spotted small signs of censorship in the PC demo, and Nintendo's content rules had already trimmed other adult games this year. The Switch 2 port of Dispatch, for example, lost explicit scenes and even some gestures.

A Saber representative told FRVR that the Switch 2 release will carry the same content as the Xbox, PlayStation and PC versions. The gameplay is meant to push past the usual limits, and the studio said it will not be censored on the handheld either. Some assets may change for performance, but the scenes themselves stay.
