Permafrost patch clears crashes and stuck quests
On 12 October 2026 the Permafrost early access build received a patch aimed at crashes and easier co-op. Friends' worlds are simpler to find, and quest items no longer disappear the moment they are picked up and stall the objective.
The crash fixes cover a few specific cases: skipping the intro, joining a player who is holding a ranged weapon, and using a consumable. A campfire reload fault on the world map is gone, as is stutter tied to ladder pieces. DLSS and FSR were updated in the same build.
The server list now shows friends' worlds more often and offers more sessions to join. The TR-22, RUD, and IAN pistols count toward the quest that asks for any crafted weapon. Building, fast travel, and equipping gear picked up off the ground were corrected, along with gamepad prompts, translations, and the profanity filter.
The patch does not add major new systems. It targets faults that were cutting exploration of the frozen world short.
