Classic Sonic is already in CrossWorlds, with Axel and Amigo to follow

On 24 June 2026 Sega laid out free racers for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds drawn from its own series. Classic Sonic was already in by that day: he had been added on 23 June with a vehicle of his own. The poster for the same announcement still labeled him “later today,” and put the next slots in August and September 2026.

August was reserved for Axel from Crazy Taxi, and September for Amigo from Samba de Amigo. Each one gets a unique vehicle.

The same plan prepared nine jukebox tracks, including pieces from Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure, Space Channel 5, and Burning Rangers, plus Speed Is My Life for the 35th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog. At the end of June the racer was on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
