Marvel's Spider-Man 2 climbed the Steam chart after Brand New Day
Insomniac's Spider-Man games picked up steep discounts and jumped in Steam's revenue chart. The spike lined up with the worldwide opening of Spider-Man: Brand New Day and with the film's box-office start.
On the current global revenue ranking, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 sat in 4th place, between the extraction game Mistfall Hunter and Steam Machine hardware. Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered was 8th, between Palworld and Beast of Reincarnation. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales landed in 26th.
Brand New Day's international opening weekend was reported at $927 million. PC discounts at the time went as high as 60%. For someone walking out of the cinema, the games offer the same New York, the same web-swinging, and the same familiar villains.
Insomniac was by then finishing Marvel's Wolverine. A full release was expected on 15 September, and only on PlayStation 5.
