A barefoot photo-mode shot in Black Flag Resynced neared 200,000 likes

On 1 August the official Assassin's Creed account paused on the top photo-mode shot in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. A picture by xR0CKETTMANx, bare feet on a wooden deck, had climbed to the front of the gallery the game sorts by likes and pins to the map.

When the studio asked about it, the shot had 194,332 likes and was still climbing. Ubisoft did not try to explain the picture. The post simply asked the community what was going on.

Replies brought up Hideo Kojima's habit of rendering feet in detail. Some people said the like was accidental while they scrolled, and some joked about a patch that takes everyone's shoes off. The studio did not follow up with a longer comment, and similar photo-mode shots kept appearing. The account's post.
