A Rockstar animator wonders if all the systems will cohere

Mike York, an animator on Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA V and God of War Ragnarok, spent several minutes on his channel with a Crimson Desert clip about combat and character growth. By then the game already had more than two million wishlist adds.

He praises the look and the ambition. His doubt is whether so many systems will be finished in time, and whether each of them will be interesting to play. He allows that some ideas already look strong even if the build is not perfect yet.

York compares the risk to big productions that needed a long polish, and points to Red Dead Redemption 2. Crimson Desert launches on 19 March 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
