Kim Dae-il was nominated for the Korea Content Awards
Pearl Abyss chairman Kim Dae-il was nominated for the Korea Content Awards 2026 for contribution to the game industry. The reason is the company’s international results, including Crimson Desert.
The nomination materials cite 2 million copies on day one, more than 5 million in under a month, and 6 million in 83 days. Pearl Abyss’s cumulative revenue is estimated at about 3 trillion won. The company ties part of the result to its own technology, Black Desert and Crimson Desert.
In the same games category are Netmarble Neo director Jin Seong-geun, DRX player Knee (Bae Jae-min) and commentator Jeong Yeong-jun. This is not Kim Dae-il’s first state recognition: development and overseas sales were noted before. The award result is not announced in the note.
