An RX 9070 XT reached 75 frames in Cyberpunk with unofficial DLSS 5
The unofficial DLSS-NR-on-AMD project more than doubled the speed of Radeon RX 9000 cards in a few days while running NVIDIA's technology. On top of earlier builds the gain was about another 46 to 49 percent: Alpha 0.4.1 added about 8 percent, 0.4.2 another 15 for the RX 9000, and 0.4.3 about 20 in Reference Mode and 18 in Fast Mode.
The result is that a Radeon RX 9070 XT in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p sits near 75 frames. On a system with a Ryzen 9 3900X the average was 75.19. A few days earlier the same card on the same unofficial build barely held 30. A gain of more than 200 percent turned an almost unplayable mode into a much steadier one.
For the RX 9000 the author recommends Fast Mode: the load is lower, and the visual gap with Reference is almost invisible. The RX 7000 still defaults to Reference. The project is not affiliated with NVIDIA.
The figures show how far software optimization can move someone else's neural network on someone else's hardware, not an official AMD feature.
