Sarzyński treats longing for minor NPCs as a compliment
Igor Sarzyński replied on Bluesky to complaints that some Cyberpunk 2077 characters did not get enough screen time. He likes posts about unrealized potential: a short appearance already leaves a mark and lets the player finish the world in their head.
He said plainly that this does not mean a continuation was planned for those people. The formula is simple: it is better when the audience asks for more. Players most often named romances with Claire and Takemura, the Peralez family, the fixer Padre, and even the idea of bringing Johnny back.
The studio stresses that most of these stories were closed on purpose, including the things left unsaid. Extended biographies such as Padre's lived in writers' drafts and were never meant for the game.
Attachment to a two-minute scene, for the authors, is a sign that the city worked, not a list of debts owed to a patch.
