Tom Warren again puts the PS5 version of Forza Horizon 6 in early 2027
On 7 September, at the end of a post about British cars, Playground Games repeated the promise from the original announcement: Forza Horizon 6 still comes to PS5 later this year. That calmed players who feared the latest Xbox strategy shift would leave the game on Xbox consoles and PC only.
Tom Warren of The Verge did not walk back his own account. He says sources familiar with Playground Games' plans describe a short delay, from late 2026 to early 2027. As he understands it, the point is to ship the PS5 version alongside the first expansion. Forza Horizon 5's PS5 port arrived the same way, together with a large content update.
That leaves two readings. One is a marketing pairing: a new port and a big update on the same day, as with Horizon 5. The other is a wider Xbox habit of stretching the wait between a first launch on its own platforms and a release everywhere else.
