The remake's co-op mod now keeps a single Ashley and barely touches the frame rate
ClayBTV showed a new build of the co-op mod for Resident Evil 4 Remake. The project is in open testing and, he says, has picked up tens of thousands of downloads. The frame rate barely moves compared with the single-player game.
Besides a two-player campaign, different characters can be chosen for the main story, for Separate Ways, which is normally Ada's, and for The Mercenaries. Early versions made players guard two Ashleys at once and broke the escort logic. There is one charge now.
The June beta had warned that the mod was rough. The October preview closes the most obvious hole: a duplicate of the president's daughter no longer stands in the village next to the original.
