NightCoop is story co-op for Cyberpunk 2077: up to 8 players, one host world, each player with their own V, dialogue choices by vote, synced cutscenes, optional PvP. It is not CDPR’s official online and not a GTA Online–style sandbox — the focus is a shared campaign on the host’s save.

Current requirements (open beta)

Before the first session, match the game patch and the DLL under red4ext\plugins\NightCoop\. Mixed builds are a common cause of failed joins or desync.

Install NightCoop via TrainerHub

No launcher yet? Get TrainerHub ZIP from the trainer page, then return to Files. Re-downloading the same build through Hub keeps the party on one version more reliably than random mirrors.

How a session works

The host owns the save and Night City. Guests join the same campaign: quests, travel, combat, and driving share one context; key dialogue branches use voting. Cutscenes and braindances are meant to be watched together; vehicles and activities stay in the host world.

Optional PvP is a toggle — not a permanent free-for-all. Networking is direct or via the mod’s connection hub; wired / low ping to the host helps.

Open beta is strongest on Act 1 and early story. Deeper campaign content will keep getting sync patches — this is a fan co-op project, not a finished AAA online mode.

What NightCoop is not

Do not run the trainer in a co-op session — cheats break sync and saves. For solo Phantom Liberty / campaign without friends, use only the trainer card.

This is also not CD Projekt RED Online and does not replace a license: you need a legitimate Cyberpunk 2077 copy. The mod does not add CDPR matchmaking.

Install FAQ

No “Co-op” menu

Check the DLL path, game patch 2.5/2.31, RED4ext from the archive, and that antivirus did not quarantine the plugin.

Friend cannot join

Same NightCoop version for everyone, same game patch, host recreates the session, code typed correctly. With a tough NAT try the mod’s alternate network path.

Do I need CET / REDmod separately

For the Hub archive build — no: RED4ext is bundled. Remove leftover old co-op plugins to avoid conflicts.

Trainer + co-op together

No. Trainer is solo only. Co-op is NightCoop only.

What the open beta includes now

Shared story on the host save, per-player V look/build, dialogue voting, shared combat and cars, optional PvP, direct or hub networking. Short Act 1 sessions are the most stable; long runs and rare quest scenes may need a rejoin.
