Free patches will continue for as long as players want them
Will Powers, Pearl Abyss’s director of PR and marketing, said free Crimson Desert updates will ship for as long as players want them. He compares the model to Black Desert Online: regular content rather than a bet only on paid expansions. He also calls the updates a way to keep interest without large advertising spends.
The roadmap runs through September: story, combat, cross-saves and other mechanics. A full DLC is already in progress and is meant to be a substantial expansion.
After the planned updates, support will continue, the studio says, if interest in Pywel stays high. The wording does not say “forever.”
