A 300-dollar build holds Cyberpunk 2077 near 60 frames
While DDR5 and new processors get more expensive, one builder went back to old parts. The core is an Intel Core i7-4790K, with 32 GB of cheap DDR3, a Z97 board, and a GeForce RTX 2060 Super. With the power supply and storage, the machine cost about 300 dollars.
At 1080p, mostly on low settings and without ray tracing, Cyberpunk 2077 stayed near 60 frames per second. The 2060 Super is the compromise: enough for Full HD, and it does not demand a new platform.
This is not an ultra recipe and not a replacement for a current PC. It shows that, during a memory shortage, old platforms suddenly have a price again if the goal is a stable hour in Night City rather than a maximum preset.
That is the point of the experiment: getting into current games does not always start with a four-figure receipt.
