Digital Foundry noted Pearl Abyss betting on a single-player game
On its weekly podcast, Digital Foundry talked about where Pearl Abyss is putting money from Black Desert Online and mobile services: into a large single-player Crimson Desert, with no microtransactions. The host called that the opposite of studios pulling successful single-player series toward multiplayer.
They also compared views. Three Resident Evil Requiem breakdowns on the channel did well, and a Crimson Desert technical video the next day drew about twice the views and activity. The hosts said they had not expected that level of interest.
By then the studio had already cited more than three million wishlist adds. The podcast placed launch the following week, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
