The PS5 disc of Crimson Desert still needs 48 GB

The physical PlayStation 5 version of Crimson Desert does not install from the Blu-ray alone. The split given is about 77 GB on the disc and another 48 GB downloaded during the first install. Without that download, setup does not continue.

The digital version is about 150 GB, which a current optical disc does not hold. The download is not only a day-one patch. It is part of the data the game needs to start.

Pearl Abyss confirmed the mandatory first download and separately said the game can be played fully offline after installation. The network is required the first time, and not after that.
