The soft PS5 image is tied to 120 Hz on TVs without 4K
PS5 players say the Crimson Desert image is soft in every graphics mode. Posts on Reddit and Discord tie it to 120 Hz output on televisions that cannot hold 4K at that rate: the console still enables the mode and loses sharpness.
The advice is to turn off “Enable 120 Hz output” in the console’s video settings. Will Powers backed that advice on social media. John Linneman of Digital Foundry adds that on screens with real 4K at 120 Hz the image stays at high resolution. The problem is panels that accept 120 Hz only at a lower resolution. The 40-frame mode depends on 120 Hz, but the softness, he says, is not limited to one preset.
On PC there is no equivalent switch. There, people report blur, unstable light and refund requests. Some write that changing settings and restarting improves the frame a little.
