The PC version of Crimson Desert needs the network once, then runs offline
In an FAQ, Pearl Abyss described the network rules for the PC version of Crimson Desert. There is no co-op. It is a single-player game, but the first setup still needs the internet.
One connection installs the day-one patch and checks that the build is current. After that the game runs offline. The FAQ does not require a permanent connection. The studio does not treat the one-time step as unique: other recent single-player releases work the same way.
The note dates launch to 19 March 2026 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The FAQ on Steam.
