On Switch 2, Cyberpunk was the top third-party game for a while
Michał Nowakowski said CD Projekt Red is very pleased with Cyberpunk 2077 sales on Nintendo Switch 2. There are no exact figures. For a while after launch the game was the best-selling third-party title on the platform and passed several of Nintendo's own games, except Mario Kart.
He describes the economics plainly: they made money, reached break-even, and are now in the black. The install base at launch was not huge, and Steam-scale numbers were never expected. The game keeps selling, players are happy, and Nintendo, he says, offered praise for how the project runs on the hardware, including the version's special features.
For the studio it was the first time on a platform at launch, a test without a reference. They liked the hardware and the ecosystem enough to try. The company's next Switch 2 game is The Witcher 3 remaster at the end of the month.
Nowakowski treats the fact of passing some of Nintendo's own early lineup as a success already.
