Six-hour previews included a dragon and a mech

Western previews after six hours in Crimson Desert agree on the scale. It is a single-player open-world adventure that grew out of an MMO idea, with no microtransactions. It began as a prequel to Black Desert Online.

Writers recognize strands of The Witcher 3, Breath of the Wild and Dragon’s Dogma 2. In the session they hunted bounties, put money into the local economy, arm-wrestled, flew a dragon and piloted a mech. Combat is praised as a mix of fighting-game spectacle and action-RPG. A PC Gamer writer said six hours was not enough and noted a skill tree that includes archery.

The reservations are there too: some quests lead the player in a straight line, and some pieces feel left over from the MMO plan. The hero is Kliff, and these previews call the continent Pywel. Launch is 19 March 2026.
