A former Witcher modder built the quest Black or Red

Paweł Sasko named the author of one of Phantom Liberty's sharpest quests. Black or Red, the story with Songbird, was built by Konrad Chlasta — once a modder, now lead quest designer on The Witcher 4.

Chlasta is known for the Witcher 2 mod about Geralt and Yennefer's wedding, Farewell to the White Wolf. Sasko replied on X after a player called the quest one of the most atmospheric in the game. His reply puts Chlasta among people who grew inside the studio from fan work.

Sasko describes the expansion itself as a letter to the spy thriller: action, horror, and something close to documentary. The Songbird story was meant as a Bond tale, with the genre's habits rewritten for Night City.

It is a straight line from a Witcher fan mod to one of Dogtown's main jobs, and then to quests on the next Witcher game.
