Version 2.0 of the third-person mod filled in male V's animations
CD Projekt Red once rejected third person in Cyberpunk 2077 so the game would not lose immersion. Almost six years later, CybrDrake's Immersive Third-Person mod on Nexus Mods reached version 2.0.0 and shows that the game can carry another camera.
The two modes have separate animations, and first person can be restored at any time. The author compares the system to solutions in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and Starfield. The update added a full set of clips for male V, new ones for female V, automatic obstacle clearance while running, NPC heads turning toward a conversation partner, and lip sync with the English voices.
Most interactions with the world now work in third person, so almost the whole game can be played that way. Combat still has no full solution and remains the exception.
This is a large update to the September mod, not a change of course by the studio. The first-person view Sarzyński defended for the story finally has male animations beside the female ones in a fan build.
