Cyberpunk 2077 mod downloads reached 1.5 billion

Nexus Mods counted more than 1.5 billion downloads of Cyberpunk 2077 mods. The game reached that mark faster than any other title on the portal. In 5.5 years Skyrim Special Edition reached 1.4 billion, and Fallout 4 reached 0.8. The older Bethesda hits can still be higher in total, but Night City's speed is greater.

By catalog estimates, more than half of the downloads are adult content: skin, body physics, revealing clothes, and appearance variants for female V. Ordinary projects live beside them — missions, mechanics, fixes.

CD Projekt eventually provided REDmod and tools, but the community is still waiting for a full equivalent of the Witcher REDkit. Mod authors are sure that more large works would follow from it.

One and a half billion is no longer a niche of enthusiasts, even if a visible share of demand looks like appearance rather than a new quest.
