Retail Black Flag Resynced edged an unofficial copy in an RTX 5090 test

A GameGPU bench compared the retail build of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced with an unofficial copy, to see whether the protection itself was costing frames. To push the limit onto the processor rather than the graphics card, the run used 1280×720, the Ultra High preset, ray tracing, DLSS Performance and frame generation off. The PC was a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, a GeForce RTX 5090, Windows 11 Business and driver 610.74.

The retail copy averaged 151 frames per second, peaked at 247 and sat at 105 on the 1% lows. The unofficial copy landed at 144, 231 and 103 on those same points. That is about 5% slower on the average. Both runs bottomed out near 15 frames.

The published conclusion was narrow. Even with the processor fully busy, the build outside the store protection was not faster. The retail version stayed ahead.
