The $79.99 Tarnished Edition box is a download-code card

Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on Switch 2 is promised before the end of this year, both as a download and in a box. On Amazon the US price is already listed at $79.99.

The boxed edition, judging by the product listing, will not include a cartridge. Inside is a key card, and the game itself has to be downloaded in full. In Europe some shops are pricing it at 69.99 euro.

The price is easier to read next to the contents. The edition includes both the base Elden Ring and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, not only a port of the 2022 original.

For anyone who wanted a disc or a cartridge on a shelf, the difference is the point: paying a full boxed price and still downloading the game.
