Orkin told a Comic Con crowd that Spencer returns in Requiem DLC

Writer Harris Orkin, who scripted Shadows of Rose for Resident Evil Village, told Meadowlark Comic Con that he is already writing an expansion for Resident Evil Requiem. He placed the release in 2027. A YouTube recording of the panel is online.

He said Capcom sends early alpha builds and gameplay video. That is how he times the cutscenes and fits lines around scenes that are still changing.

The line that landed hardest: Umbrella founder Oswell Spencer comes back in the new story. Orkin added that Requiem already carries a Spencer thread and the expansion will push it further, then said he probably should not have mentioned it.

He also set cheap jump scares against Hitchcock’s long, uneasy wait. That, he said, is why Grace Ashcroft was written as a vulnerable FBI analyst on the autism spectrum, not as a trained supersoldier.
