Co-op is being studied: the game was once conceived as an MMO
At a meeting with shareholders, Heo Jin-young said Pearl Abyss is studying co-op for Crimson Desert. He considers the interest in playing together understandable: the project was first conceived as a multiplayer MMO, then the concept changed.
Multiplayer, he says, would require a full rethink of balance. The team is weighing the technical and gameplay sides, and there is no decision yet.
Support for user modifications has not been approved either. That has its own organizational and technical questions. Both points are a study, not a mode announcement.
