On a base PS5 the quality mode felt faster than 30 frames
At a press event, one creator briefly played Crimson Desert on a base PlayStation 5. There was no console capture and no frame counter on screen. From the image he estimated about 4K and a feel closer to 40 frames per second, not a measured figure. The presentation.
The usual PS5 split is 4K at 30 in quality, or about 1080p at 60 in performance. Here, on that observation, the studio looks to be aiming between them. In a ten-minute camp assault more than a dozen enemies were on screen at once, and the host did not see a serious drop. He called the detail dense enough that choosing a mode could be difficult.
The build was not final. A day-one patch and more optimization can move the numbers. This report dates launch to 19 March 2026.
