The PS5 Pro patch for Cyberpunk 2077 is available free

From 8 April, PS5 Pro owners with a copy of Cyberpunk 2077 get a free update. It adds PSSR, PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, and ray tracing with BVH8 for light, shadows, and reflections. The game also remains in the PlayStation Plus catalog.

Ray Tracing Pro gathers reflections, ambient occlusion, sky light, shadows, and emissive lighting, and aims at 40 frames on VRR displays or 30 otherwise. The middle mode, with selective ray tracing, holds 60. Performance on VRR reaches 90 frames.

This is not new story. Six years after the 2020 release, the studio is still selling Night City as one of the strongest images of the generation, after a run of large technical patches.

The game also lives on Switch 2, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. The Pro patch closes the gap for Sony's newer console specifically.
