Martin calls his mood about the Elden Ring film hope
George R. R. Martin, who wrote the mythology of Elden Ring, spoke about the film without the caution writers often use around other people's adaptations.
On his blog he called A24 a cool studio and Alex Garland a first-class director. He described his mood about the project in one word: hope. It is a short verdict, but it stands out from someone who handed a studio a world and then watched that world get retold in a game.
Shooting is already underway and is expected to take about 100 days. The world premiere is still set for 3 March 2028.
Martin does not go through the plot, and he does not confirm how much of his text will reach the screen. He is judging the studio and the director, not a finished film.
