Lead characters in Crimson Desert are voiced by actors

In an interview with the channel itmeJP, Will Powers said Pearl Abyss did not use a generative model for Crimson Desert’s voices. Lead characters and side-quest characters, he said, were recorded by actors. He would not promise that for every minor NPC, in case one exception made the claim false.

Speech will be in English, Korean and Simplified Chinese. Text will be translated into 14 languages, including Russian. Powers said he understands players whose languages will not be spoken, and he described extra voice tracks as a large separate job, not a small patch.

In the same conversation he repeated that the game has no microtransactions. Launch is 19 March 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series and PC.
