After 28 August, Tarnished Edition led the Switch 2 chart
Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition led the Nintendo Switch 2 sales chart and kept first place in the eShop after the 28 August release. What sat on top was not a new platform hit but a port of a 2022 game. Behind it were Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2, Mario Kart World, Cyberpunk 2077, and Pokémon Pokopia.
Nintendo ranks these places by revenue, not by the number of copies. At $79.99 Elden Ring has an advantage over cheaper games. First place still shows that Switch 2 owners are buying it, not only wishlisting it.
A year ago the early showings raised doubts, especially in handheld. FromSoftware moved the release from 2025 to 2026 to keep working on it. The finished version aims at 30 frames both in handheld and docked. Most of the time it stays near that mark, and it drops in the heaviest stretches of the open world. The picture stays fairly sharp and in many scenes reaches about 1080p.
The package holds the base game, Shadow of the Erdtree, the new classes, equipment, and Torrent's customization. For a game that is already four years old, the first full trip through the Lands Between on a handheld is what drove the demand.
