Players are again asking for a second story DLC and offering to pay
After a sale, the announcement of the anime's second season, and a collaboration with Wuthering Waves, Cyberpunk 2077 again passed 100,000 concurrent players on Steam, the best figure in about three years. Against that, players are asking CD Projekt Red to revisit its refusal of a second large DLC.
A Reddit thread gathered 12,000 votes. People write that they would pay immediately, compare the situation with a new expansion for The Witcher 3, and list unfinished threads: Mr. Blue Eyes, the corporations, the Raffens, Trauma Team, and Militech. One player who spent 220 hours on a completionist run says a new expansion would wreck their plans, and that they would take it without hesitation.
The odds are low. The studio has said more than once that Phantom Liberty is the only large story expansion, and that the main team has moved on to the next game in the universe and to the next Witcher.
The spike still shows how far the reputation has moved since patch 2.0 and Dogtown. A request for DLC now sounds like demand, not like a complaint about a raw launch.
