THR sources put the Elden Ring film well over $100 million

Sources talking to The Hollywood Reporter put the Elden Ring film's budget "significantly over" $100 million. They say principal photography will run for about 100 days. The paper calls it the largest and most ambitious project in A24's history.

That is more expensive than the studio's own Civil War, and more expensive than Marty Supreme with Timothée Chalamet. For A24, which usually works on a smaller scale, the estimate is news by itself.

The cast already named is Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus), Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, and Nick Offerman. Roles are not assigned in public. Viewers are already trying Spaeny on as Melina and Offerman as the warrior jar Alexander. Those are guesses, not a cast list.

This report again places the premiere on 3 March 2028. The money and the length of the shoot are why the film is not expected sooner.
