After the season news, Cyberpunk 2077 hit 87,000 concurrent players on Steam

Details of Edgerunners season two lined up with a spike on Steam. Over the previous weekend Cyberpunk 2077 peaked at 87,515 people at once. For a single-player game from December 2020, that is abnormally high.

The game is now on PC, Xbox Series, PlayStation 5 with a Pro update, and Nintendo Switch 2. The publisher expects franchise interest to hold sales until the sequel.

Netflix confirmed that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 premieres in autumn 2026. Trigger's story will stand alone across 10 episodes with a new cast.

The figure of 87,000 is not a launch record. For the sixth year of an RPG it shows that an anime announcement still sends people back to Night City.
