Alinea called the RE4 remake the best-selling remake of this generation

In late July 2026, Alinea Analytics and Rhys Elliott ranked Resident Evil 4 (2023) first among this console generation's remakes and remasters. Their shipment estimate is 16.8 million copies, well clear of second place.

The same chart continues with ARK: Survival Ascended at 7 million, The Last of Us Part I at 6.3 million, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered at 4.5 million, Dead Space at 4.3 million, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth at 4.2 million, and Silent Hill 2 at 3.2 million.

The window is sales since 10 November 2020 on PS5, Xbox Series, and Steam. It is not a line from Capcom's platinum list. On 31 December 2025 the studio itself had the remake at 12.2 million, and that figure also included PS4.

The two methods should not be added together. Inside Alinea's estimate, the Leon remake is still first, far ahead of the next remaster.
