Tokyo’s Resident Evil anniversary show includes a 290 cm Dimitrescu
Capcom is opening an interactive exhibition, THE WORLD OF BIOHAZARD, in Tokyo for the 30th anniversary of Resident Evil. It runs at the Shibuya BEAM gallery from 30 October to 24 December, 56 days in all.
The main hall is given over to the series’ biological threats: Umbrella’s T-virus, the Las Plagas parasites and the megamycete. Life-size figures are the draw. The centerpiece is a 1:1 Alcina Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village, 290 centimeters tall, with a statue of Albert Wesker beside her.
A separate photo spot recreates the house from Resident Evil 7. Visitors can stand next to Jack Baker at the dinner scene and the line about becoming part of the family.
A screening room will run the disasters in order, from the Arklay mountains and the fall of Raccoon City through to later events. Capcom is also promising development archives not shown before, Nemesis clothing and replicas of the antique coins.
