A free Cyberpunk 2077 update for PS5 Pro is close

The official Cyberpunk 2077 account warned that a free technical update to the PS5 version, built for PS5 Pro, would arrive in the coming weeks. It will not add quests, items, or story.

The patch is only for the PS5 edition, and it exists so the game can use the Pro hardware. The studio has not listed the exact improvements. Observers expect PSSR, the same class of upscaling already used in other games on the platform.

After years of console trouble, CD Projekt has been selling Cyberpunk 2077 as a technically rebuilt RPG. This update is the next step, but a narrow one: image and modes for the new console, not a second Phantom Liberty.

The studio asked players to watch its channels over the coming weeks for the date.
