Edgerunners season one had an ending where David stays alive

Bartosz Sztybor described an alternate ending for the first season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. In the version that aired, David dies. In another version Arasaka takes him alive and turns him into a machine for corporate wars in Africa or South America, without a will of his own.

Sztybor described it in a conversation that Anime Corner retold. Its post records the wording: David does not fully die, he is captured, and he ends as a robot in someone else's war.

For viewers who already find the canonical finale cruel, the draft is harsher. The hero loses not his life but himself. It did not make the series.

Trigger's second season is being built as a separate 10-episode story with a new cast. Among the figures is Wick Kingsley, a veteran living in the shadow of old fame. The first teaser was promised for 29 June.
