Anonymous developers say the story was assembled just before release
Posts on Blind, then noticed on Reddit, came from people who say they worked on Crimson Desert. Sales had already passed 2 million, and Pearl Abyss shares had fallen. The authors tie that to delays and internal reshuffles before launch.
In their account, the final story was assembled almost at release, so it feels scattered. An earlier version had a political plot with a deposed king, betrayal and a fight over the resources of the Crimson Desert. The concept changed, and Kliff was left at the center. They also describe a culture of agreeing with management and a pile of mechanics borrowed from other hits, including Tears of the Kingdom, which they say bloated the controls.
These are anonymous posts, not a studio statement. The technical complaints about generative images and Intel Arc are only background in the text.
