David Jaffe saw a stereotype in a goblin and was answered in kind
David Jaffe, known for God of War, wrote that one goblin in Crimson Desert can be read as an antisemitic stereotype: a large nose, a plot line about greed, and a name that reminded him of a Jewish surname. He likes the game overall. He does not like that choice.
The reply split. Some readers said he was the one who drew the line between appearance, greed and culture, and that this is what locks in a stereotype the game’s text may not have stated.
The note passes on the complaint and the objection. The studio does not answer in this text.
